Lewis County Woman’s ‘Baby Jane’ Quilt on Exhibit Through
June 5 at North Country Quilting Guild Show in Clayton

Lewis County Woman's "Baby Jane" Quilt on
Exhibit Today through June 5
 Clayton, NY- A quilt of
5,602 pieces, inspired by a Civil War-era quilt and made by Donna Peck of
Lewis County, will be on exhibit at the 2022 North Country Quilting Guild
biennial quilt show June 3-5 at the Cerow
Recreation Park Arena, 615 East Line Road, in Clayton, New York.
"In War Time 1863" was embroidered into a quilt made by Jane A.
Stickle, a Shaftsbury, Vermont, farm wife, with 169 five-inch blocks, 225
different patterns, and 5,602 pieces of fabric. Her workmanship and
artistry have been celebrated worldwide. The original quilt of pieced
cotton with a linen backing and dubbed the "Dear Jane" quilt, is
seen only on limited display as part of the Bennington Museum collections.
Quilts made with the Dear Jane pattern are known as "Baby Jane"
quilts. Donna Peck's "Baby Jane" will be among the quilts of all
sizes filling the Cerow Recreation Park Arena
from 10 AM to 5 PM on Friday, June 3 and Saturday, June 4, and from 10 AM
to 4 PM on Sunday, June 5 in Clayton. The show includes 14 quilting pattern
and technique demonstrations, vendors, and a little quilts silent auction
to benefit area cancer patients. Show admission is $10 for a ticket good
