The Beaver River, Lowville and South
Lewis Ag Advisory Boards and Ag Booster Club will be hosting the 6th Annual
Lewis County Ag Trivia Challenge on Saturday, April 2nd, 2022, at the
Oswegatchie Educational Center. You are invited to participate in this
great event!
Over the past
years the event has grown to 175 participants from the Lewis County
Agricultural Community and we anticipate an even bigger
crowd this year. The event is a meal and trivia contest for the community
and will raise funds for
Lewis County FFA
activities like summer leadership training, National FFA Convention and
student FFA jackets.
The event is set
up as a fun and interactive social event for the Lewis County Agricultural
Community. It is an opportunity to get together to socialize and network
while also providing funds for the three local FFA chapters. A social hour
will begin at 11:00 am, followed by a meal at noon and then 25-30 trivia
questions ranging
from Lewis County History, Animal Science, Agronomy/Soil, Ag Mechanics, FFA
Knowledge and General Agricultural Knowledge. Each team of 4-8 people will
work together to answer the questions and then receive a score for correct
answers. The team with the highest score will receive a traveling trophy.
Individuals are also encouraged to register. During the event we will also
have items available for auction.
The idea is that
local organizations, businesses, farms and
families will have teams come in to compete against each other for a fun
filled event. The cost is $25.00 per person which will include your meal
and beverage. The 2022 theme is “Celebrating the Adirondacks.” Feel free to
get creative with table décor and/or team outfits. Get the inside scoop,
sneak peaks of raffle items and trivia topic hints by liking the South Lewis FFA
& Agricultural Education page on Facebook!
If you would like
to participate, please contact one of the FFA advisors by March 18th with a
team name and the number of members on your team. Payment can be made ahead
of time or at the door. We hope you will consider joining us and supporting
our nation’s most important industry – agriculture, and its most precious
resource – young people. Thank you!
