LCHS to Resume Operations of COVID-19 Testing Site

Announces New Hours of Operation and New Location

LOWVILLE, NY─ Lewis County Health System, in partnership with Lewis County and Lewis County Public Health, will resume no-cost Covid-19 drive-thru Covid PCR testing only for individuals who reside, attend school, or work in Lewis County beginning Monday, February 28, 2022.  The last day of testing at the state-run testing site at Maple Ridge is Wednesday, February 23.

The testing site will be open five days a week, Monday-Friday from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m and move to a NEW LOCATION.

Testing will be done at Lewis County General Hospital’s main campus, 7785 North State Street in Lowville, in parking lot #6, just off Route 26, at the Lewis County Command Trailer behind the helicopter landing zone.  Upon arrival, follow traffic signs to the COVID-19 testing site.

Individuals must live, attend school, or work in Lewis County to be eligible for testing and show proof of residency, school, or employment (driver’s license, utility bill, work badge, or paycheck stub).  For children, a parent ID is acceptable.  No appointments are necessary, and there is no rapid testing.

All individuals requesting a screening test will be asked to provide their name, date of birth, physical address, email address, and phone number to allow for result follow-up.  Samples will be sent to an off-site lab with results available in approximately two to three days.  Results will be available directly to tested individuals through the BioReference Laboratories patient portal.  There is no cost or age limit for testing.

Symptomatic patients should contact their physician for guidance with testing and treatment or seek emergency care if they are experiencing any severe or distressing symptoms.
