The Tour de Lewis: Oswegatchie to Osceola is ready to
roll Memorial Day Weekend.
Local Businesses Collaborate to Create a Road Bike
Tour of Lewis County
In keeping with
the motto “Lewis County: Our Backyard, Your Adventure”, area
businesses have teamed together with the Lewis County Chamber of Commerce
to create an inaugural biking event that will highlight the best that Lewis
County has to offer locals and tourists alike.
The Tour de Lewis
is designed to be a non-competitive ride through Lewis County’s scenic
Adirondack Park, Black River Valley, and Tug Hill Plateau. The route will
take cyclists from The Oswegatchie Education Center in Croghan 62 miles to
the Osceola Ski and Sport Center (from the Northeast corner to the
Southwest corner of the county).
Participation is
open to recreational and competitive amateur cyclists alike. Riders of all
abilities can participate in one of the three distances. Cyclists can
choose from a 28 mile and 15-mile option, which will start from Snow Ridge
and West Leyden respectively.
Good Ole Wishy’s in Croghan, Snow Ridge in Turin, and The West
Leyden Fire Department are hosting the three official rest stops that will
offer riders energy snacks, drinks, and bathrooms.
There will be a
support and gear (SAG) wagon available until 3:00 PM. Transportation from
the finish line back to Oswegatchie is available for a nominal fee.
The registration
fee includes a victory t-shirt, a swag bag filled with local area goodies
and promotions, and admission to the food, drink, and music of the
afterparty in Osceola.
Join us on May
29, 2022, for a scenic bike ride across Lewis County and end with a fun
afternoon of live music, food, drinks, and assorted outdoor activities at
the Osceola Ski and Sport Resort.

up the hills and coast down them,” Ernest Hemmingway.
