PRESS RELEASE
On January 20, 2022, State Police arrested Michael J. Rosas, age 38 from Carthage,
NY for the following charges:
- Dissemination of an
Unlawful Surveillance Image 1st degree, class “E”
felony
- Unlawful Surveillance 2nd degree,
class “E” felony
- Possession of a Sexual
Performance by a Child, class “E” felony
- Forcible Touching, class
“A” misdemeanor
- Endangering the Welfare of
a Child, class “A” misdemeanor
The arrest is the result of an investigation into Rosas
being involved in the sexual exploitation of children.
Rosas was arraigned in the city of Watertown Court and
was remanded to the Jefferson County Jail on $2,500 cash/$5,000 bond and is
scheduled to appear in the city of Watertown Court on January 28, 2022, at
10 a.m.
The New York State Police were assisted in this
investigation by the FBI (Tampa Office), Fort Drum Army CID, Jefferson
County CAC/CPS, and the Village of Carthage Police Department.
