Town of Croghan- The New York State Police arrested a Croghan man following a property damage accident shortly before 11 PM last night on the Beaver Falls Road in the Town of Croghan. Daniel P. Monnat, 20, was charged with Driving While Intoxicated- 1st Offense, an unclassified misdemeanor under NYS VTL section 1192.03. He was issued an appearance ticket for the Town of Croghan court and the incident is still pending investigation. A short time later, at 12:15 AM this morning, Mr. Monnat was additionally arrested for Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, a violation under NYS PL 221.05, at 1 Park Drive in the Village of Carthage. He was issued a ticket to appear in court at a later date on this charge as well. Troopers did not release a BAC percentage for Mr. Monnat. Under New York State law a BAC of .08% is considered proof of intoxication. |
