Cortland- The Copenhagen Lady Golden Knights soccer team capped off a
    remarkable playoff run today with a 2-0 victory over Wheatland-Chili in the State
    Class D Final at SUNY Cortland.

    Two first half goals by senior Claire Stackel proved to be enough as goalie
    Mackenzie Wheeler added another shutout. Copenhagen's defense did not allow
    a goal throughout the entire state tournament, posting 3 shutout wins.

    This is Copenhagen's third state championship in girls soccer, with the last
    coming in 1993.
