Lowville- The Lewis County Planning Board approved the site plan submitted for construction of a 37,000-square-foot net addition to the Kraft Heinz plant located at 7388 Utica Blvd., at a special meeting on Thursday morning. The plan will now go back to the Village of Lowville Planning Board for review at a meeting on November 16 at 6 PM. The planned expansion of the Lowville facility, which has been in the works for some time, comes at the same time as Wednesday's announcement from Governor Cuomo stating that New York State and the Kraft Heiz company have reached a deal to retain the 340 jobs in Lowville, while adding at least 110 additional positions over the next five years. |
