Lowville- Two Lewis County Relay for Life teams are joining forces this Friday
    for a fundraiser and quarter auction at the Double Play Sports Center on Shady
    Avenue. The evening, hosted by Team Bryce-Autism Speaks and Team Faith,
    will begin with the doors opening at 5:30 PM, with the auction starting at 6 PM.

    There will be a $5 donation at the door for admission, which includes one auction
    paddle and one ticket into a raffle for door prizes. Additional paddles can be
    purchased for a $3 donation and extra tickets for a door prize will be $1 each/5
    for $5/15 for $10. There will also be a 50/50 raffle and refreshments available.

    The quarter paddle auction will work in the following manor:

    Participants in the auction hold up a numbered paddle if they wish to bid on an
    item. The amount of the bid is based on the retail value of the item and is bid in
    25 cent increments, with no bid exceeding $1. After all paddles are raised, money
    is collected and numbers being drawn until the item is won. If a bidder has
    multiple paddles entered they will need to put money in for each paddle they
    want to use at that time. Those having multiple paddles can decide which ones to
    use, or use them all before numbers are drawn and money is collected. Numbers
    will be called until one that is in on he item is drawn.

    Proceeds from the event will support two great causes: Autism Speaks and the
    American Cancer Society.
