Beaver Falls- The Lewis County Humane Society will be on hand at the Beaver River Central School before the homecoming football game versus Cooperstown this Saturday, with a "Fill the Van" drive. The drive will be taking place in the high school parking lot from 9 AM until noon, with the football game scheduled to kickoff at 1 PM. The Humane Society will be collecting items needed for the shelter. People are encouraged to bring something from the wish list with them before the game to help fill the van. Items on the wish list include: Dog/Cat Food, Cat Litter, Rawhides, Treats(Cat & Dog), Bleach, Pine Sol, Laundry Soap, Dish Soap, Paper Towels, Windex, and Collars/Leashes. The Lewis County Humane Society, established in 1914, is a non-profit organization. Their purpose is to provide care and treatment for the "temporarily displaced" animals of Lewis County while they seek out a permanent home. The Humane Society receives no financial support from federal, state or local government agencies, and depends on donations and drives such as this throughout the year for funding and supplies. All donations are greatly appreciated! If you can't make it to the game and still want to donate something, you can visit the Lewis County Humane Society located at 6388 Pine Grove Road, in Glenfield, or call the shelter at (315)376-8349. |
