Liverpool- The Beaver River varsity football team fell just short of a trip to the
Carrier Dome in Syracuse next weekend after a tough 21-17 loss in their NFF
semi-final game against top seed Tully today.

Tully held a 9-0 lead at halftime after recovering a Beaver River fumble for a
safety and adding a touchdown pass. A 12 yard touchdown pass from Matthew
Middleton to Matthew Kilionski gave Beaver River its first score of the game in
the third quarter. A 24 yard Kilionski field goal early in the fourth quarter gave
    Beavers a 10-9 lead.

After a 59 yard touchdown run by Jem Haluska Beaver River was up 17-9 , when
with 4:28 left in the game, Tully scored a one yard touchdown to close the gap to
2 points. A short time later Beaver River was set up to punt at the 31 yard line
when Tully blocked the kick and recovered the ball, returning it for what ended
up to be the game winning touchdown. Beaver River had one last opportunity but
an interception by Tully sealed the game and kept alive Tully's perfect season.

Tully will move on to face the  Sauquoit Valley/APW winner in the NFF final on
November 7th at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse. NFF teams do not participate in
    sectional or state tournaments.
