charges in Lewis County Court today. Kurt J. Hazzard, 45, Croghan, was found guilty of one count of first-degree Course of Sexual Conduct Against a Child, a class "B" felony and two counts of third-degree Incest, a class "E" felony. Mr. Hazzard was accused of having sexual contact with a girl under the age of 13 between 2003 and 2008 as well as having contact with an underage girl in 2010 and 2012. Attorney Paul Carey, of Syracuse, represented Mr. Hazzard during the trial. Sentencing in the case has been tentatively set for June 24th. Mr. Hazzard is currently serving an eight-year prison sentence at the Riverview Correctional Facility in Ogdensburg, after being convicted in May of 2013 on charges of first- and third-degree Rape, first- and third-degree Criminal Sex Act and Endangering the Welfare of a Child, all stemming from allegations he had sexual intercourse with a 15-year-old girl in December of 2011. |
