Town of Pitcairn- The New York State Police arrested a Boonville man on
    Thursday afternoon after a traffic stop on Route 812 in the Town of Pitcairn.

    Dylan B. Ferris, 31, was charged with fifth-degree Criminal Possession of
    Marijuana, a class "B" misdemeanor under NYS PL section 221.10. He was
    additionally charged with a speed violation under NYS VTL section 1180-0B, an
    infraction. Mr. Ferris was issued tickets to appear in the Pitcairn Town Court at a
    later date. The investigation intothe matter is still pending.

    ***NYS Penal Law Section 221.10- Criminal possession of marijuana in the fifth
    degree:
    Criminal possession of marijuana in the fifth degree is charged when a person
    knowingly and unlawfully possesses:
      1. marijuana in a public place, as defined in section 240.00 of this
    chapter, and such marijuana is burning or open to public view; or
      2. one or more preparations, compounds, mixtures or substances
    containing marijuana and the preparations, compounds, mixtures or
    substances are of an aggregate weight of more than twenty-five grams.***
