Lewis County Judge, Daniel R. King, Announces
Campaign for Re-Election
“Judge Dan King
is pleased and excited to announce his intention to seek re-election as
Lewis County Judge. Judge King has proudly
spent his entire legal career representing and serving the people of Lewis
County.
As Lewis County
Judge, Judge King presides over County Court, Family Court and Surrogate
Court. To this campaign, Judge King
brings close to 30 years of experience to each of these three Courts. Judge King has, for the past 9 years,
served as the Lewis County Pistol Permit Licensing Officer; having issued thousands
of pistol permits.
Judge King also
brings to his campaign 25 years of experience in Lewis County Drug
Treatment Court. He has presided
over that Court for almost 10 years.
He is a member of the statewide County Court Judges Association and
serves as the Treasurer for the Association and serves on the Executive
Committee.
Prior to being
elected in 2013, Judge King had amassed 20 years of experience in the same
courts he presides over now, through work as a private attorney, as
Assistant County Public Defender, and as Lewis County Public Defender.
Over the past 18
years, Judge King and wife Rebecca have chosen to pursue their careers and
raise their three children in Lewis County.
Judge King has been a volunteer coach for Lowville Youth Soccer
Association and Little League Baseball.
He also is an active member of the Lowville Elks and lifelong member
of St. Peter's Church in Lowville.
