Lewis County Provides COVID-19 Vaccine Update
Booster Shots
A booster shot is
now recommended for all three COVID-19 vaccines (Pfizer, Moderna and
Johnson & Johnson). The populations currently eligible for a booster
shot include individuals who are:
• 65 years and older
• 18 and older who have underlying
medical conditions
• 18 and older who live or work in
high-risk settings.
Eligible
individuals can receive a booster shot once six months have passed
since their second shot of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine series and once two
months have passed since their Johnson and Johnson vaccine. Booster
shots are available at Walmart Pharmacy, Kinney Drugs Pharmacy, or through
Lewis County Public Health.
Third Doses
(Different from Boosters)
A third dose of
Pfizer and Moderna is recommended for moderately or severely
immunocompromised individuals. If you are unsure if you qualify for a third
dose, please contact your healthcare provider. Lewis County Public Health
as well as local pharmacies are currently offering third doses for
immunocompromised individuals.
