PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE
VILLAGE OF LOWVILLE
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE, that the Board of
Trustees of the Village of Lowville shall conduct a public hearing on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at the Village offices
at 5535 Bostwick Street, Lowville, New York, to consider an increase to its
Surcharge for Industrial Accounts as follows:
Water Usage:
If weekly average water consumption exceeds the following amounts, the
surcharge shall be:
· 900,000
gallons
- Surcharge =
$5,000.00
If daily water consumption exceeds the
following amounts, the surcharge shall be:
· 1,100,000
gallons/day
- Surcharge =
$1,000.00
· 1,200,000
gallons/day
- Surcharge =
$1,500.00
· 1,300,000
gallons/day
- Surcharge =
$2,000.00
*Note: if the
3-million-gallon tank is at six feet (6’), the Village of Lowville will
reduce flow to the Industrial Account. The Village will notify the
Industrial Account holders when the tank gets to a less than ten feet (10’)
level.
It is proposed that
the rate change shall be effective November 1, 2021.
All persons
wishing to be heard on this matter should be present at the place, time and date aforestated or
have submitted written comments in advance. Any persons requiring
special accommodations to attend or participate in such hearings should
notify the Village Clerk three (3) business days prior to the meeting.

GUIDELINES FOR PUBLIC COMMENT:
§ The public shall be allowed to speak only during the Public
Comment period of the meeting or at such other time as a majority of the
Board shall allow.
§ Speakers may be required to step to the front of the
room.
§ Speakers must give their name, address, and
organization, if any.
§ Speakers must be recognized by the presiding
officer.
§ Speakers must limit their remarks to 5 minutes on a
given topic.
§ Speakers may not yield any remaining time they may
have to another speaker.
§ Board members may, with the permission of the Mayor, interrupt a
speaker during their remarks, but only for the purpose of clarification or
information.
§ All remarks shall be addressed to the Board as a body and not to
any member thereof.
§ Speakers shall observe the commonly accepted rules
of courtesy, decorum, dignity and good taste.
§ Interested parties or their representatives may
address the Board by written communications
