Lowville, NY- The Village of Lowville has once again issued a Water Watch for users of the water system, meaning that residents and businesses are asked to voluntarily take water conservation measures as the system gets replenished.

DPW Superintendent Paul Denise tells us that the 3-million gallon, 20 foot water storage tank has fallen to a level between 12-14 feet, prompting the watch.

Mr. Denise said Kraft Heinz, the largest water customer, has been using over 1 million gallons per day, while the system is only permitted to filter 1.5 million gallons per day. All of the remaining water customers combined, including the hospital, other manufacturers and all residents, typically use about 350,000 gallons per day, Mr. Denise said.

In order to prevent the need for another mandatory conserve water order, Mr. Denise is asking that users of the system be conscious of their usage and avoid using unnecessary water at this time.
