Utica, NY- U.S. District Court Judge David N. Hurd, for the Northern District of New York in Utica, has issued an order today that temporarily blocks New York state’s mandate requiring COVID-19 vaccines for all health care workers by September 27. The order comes after a group of health care workers filed a lawsuit with the court, arguing that the vaccine mandate violates their Constitutional rights by disallowing religious exemptions.

New York state was given a deadline of September 22nd by Judge Hurd to respond to the lawsuit.

This is a developing story and we’ll update as more information becomes available.
