Arc, Oneida-Lewis awarded $57,500 in
grants from NYSARC Trust Services
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
NYSARC Trust Services is proud to fulfill
its annual commitment to enhancing the lives of people with disabilities by
awarding a total of $3,080,500 to Chapters of The Arc New York statewide
organization in 2021.
This year, The Arc, Oneida-Lewis Chapter
was awarded $39,500 to provide guardianship services for the people they
support who would not otherwise have a legal guardian or advocate. The chapter
also received $18,000 to provide new recreational opportunities and enrich
the lives of the more than 1,400 people it serves.
Supported by Chapter staff and community
volunteers, The Arc, Oneida-Lewis’ Guardianship Program currently provides
services to five people and is ready to assist seven more as a Standby or
Alternate Standby guardian. They plan to use the recreational grant monies
to purchase equipment for activities, fund community outings, host special
events, and more.
Since 1973, NYSARC Trust Services have
helped thousands of people by administering supplemental needs trusts (SNT)
and pooled trusts, enabling individuals to maintain eligibility for
Medicaid and other means-tested government benefit programs.
