The Lewis County
Sheriff’s Office sadly announces the passing this morning of longtime
Senior Investigator Dale Roberts. Senior Investigator Roberts started with
the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office in 1982, retiring as Senior Investigator
in 2017. Although retired from investigations, Senior Investigator Roberts
remained actively involved at the Sheriff’s Office with Parks and
Recreation details. Members of the Sheriff’s Office provided an escort of
the body this evening from SUNY Upstate in Syracuse, up Interstate 81 and
across State Route 177, with a detour through Lowville, before continuing
to the Trainor Funeral Home in Boonville. Our video of the escort passing
by the Lowville Fire Hall is included below, by clicking the image. A full
obituary and service details will be forthcoming.
