Fire Dispatch: Structure Fire- River Road, Town of Lyonsdale

UPDATE (07:00 p.m.): The American Red Cross reports that volunteers from the Central & Northern New York Chapter of the American Red Cross have provided immediate emergency aid to three people after today's fire on River Road in Port Leyden. The Red Cross provided financial assistance which can be used for necessities such as shelter, food, and clothing to two adults and a one-year-old child, according to a press release from the agency. Volunteers also offered health services and emotional support, and in the coming days, Red Cross staff and volunteers will remain available to help those affected by the fire as they navigate the road to recovery. A fire report from Lewis County Fire and Emergency Management office has not yet been issued for the fire.


UPDATE (02:56 p.m.): Port Leyden fire reports that the fire is under control at this time.


Fire Dispatch (01:42 p.m.): Port Leyden fire department has been dispatched to a reported fire on the River Rd, near the Wildcat Rd. intersection, in the town of Lyonsdale. It's reported that a television caught on fire in the residence, with fire spreading through the living room. All occupants are reported to be safely out of the structure. Lyons Falls fire department has been requested to provide mutual aid. Port Leyden crews on scene report a working structure fire. Constableville fire department has been requested to provide mutual aid with tankers.
