Silo Fire, East State St., Lowville

Fire Dispatch (12:15 p.m.): Lowville Fire
has been dispatched to a reported silo fire on East State St. in the
village, between Trinity and Woodlawn Avenues. Lowville Fire Chief has
arrived on scene and reports a working silo fire to emergency dispatchers.
Please avoid the area if possible.
UPDATE (01:30 p.m.): Below are some of our photos
from the scene of the silo fire on East State St. in Lowville, reported
around 12:15 this afternoon. Martinsburg and New Bremen fire departments
were requested and have responded with tankers. Lowville Chief Joe Austin
tells us the silo is about half full. He expects crews to be on scene for a
while, pumping water into the silo. Lowville Fire Auxiliary is on scene
with refreshments and Search & Rescue has an ambulance on stand-by at
the scene.
