State Police investigating a fatal pedestrian crash
in Jefferson County

PRESS RELEASE
On May 20, 2021,
at 3:02 p.m., State Police responded to the area of Freeman Creek Road and
County Route 68 in the town of Rodman for a reported fatal crash involving
a pedestrian.
The preliminary
investigation has revealed 69-year-old Virginia A. Galaydick, who resided on Freeman Creek Road
was walking westbound on Freeman Creek Road, along the shoulder, when she
was struck by a 2003 Ford pickup truck, operated by Garrett D.
Fuller, age 18 from Mannsville, NY.
Mrs. Galaydick was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Fuller was evaluated at the scene by a State Police Drug Recognition Expert
(DRE) and showed no signs of any alcohol/drug impairment. He was not
injured in the crash.
The investigation
is continuing.
