Beaver River Graduate Julie L. Emery, FNP Returns Home to Provide Primary Care

LOWVILLE, NY - Lewis County Health System (LCHS) is pleased to announce Family Nurse Practitioner Julie L. Emery, FNP-C, has joined the medical staff.  She will provide a full range of primary health care services for the entire family at the newly renovated Copenhagen Health Center, located at 9732 State Route 12 in Copenhagen, starting on Monday, May 17, 2021.

“We are very fortunate that Julie decided to return home to Lewis County to provide health care where she grew up,” stated Gerald R. Cayer, CEO, Lewis County Health System.  “Julie is energetic, compassionate, and highly motivated to provide access to quality health care for patients at the Copenhagen Health Center.”

Ms. Emery is a native of Croghan, NY, and a 2005 graduate of Beaver River Central School.  In Springfield, MO, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology with a chemistry minor in 2009 from Evangel University and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2013 from Cox College. Julie completed her Master of Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of South Carolina, Columbia, SC, in 2018.

Before returning to her hometown, Julie worked for Tenet Health at Fort Mill Family Practice. She provided a wide range of medical care for patients ranging from wellness visits and primary care to complex disease and chronic illness management.  Before becoming a Nurse Practitioner, she worked in the nursing field for eight years at Carolina Healthcare System.

“I had a great experience while obtaining my education and working for Carolina Healthcare System and Tenet Health,” stated Julie Emery, FNP.  “It allowed me to step out and see something different by working in a larger healthcare system. But all along, I pictured myself living and working in Lewis County.”

Julie grew up in Croghan, New York, and is the daughter of Bruce and Barbara Emery.  Aside from providing health care, she enjoys running and hiking and continues her love of music.  She is assisting with cross-country team coaching at Beaver River Central School and will provide health care services for Copenhagen Central School.

“I am looking forward to taking care of patients of all ages and helping to ensure that residents in Copenhagen and surrounding communities have access to primary health care services,” stated Julie Emery, FNP.

Copenhagen Health Center is open Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  For more information or to schedule an appointment with Julie, please call the health center at 315-688-2305.
