LCHS Extended
Hours Clinic Suspending Services Starting May 7
LOWVILLE,
NY─ Effective Friday, May 7, Lewis County Health System will be suspending
services at its Extended Hours Clinic, located on the main hospital campus
in Lowville.
“The pause is due
to a lack of clinical coverage,” stated Sean Harney, MD, Chief Medical
Officer of Employed Practices. “We will be temporarily re-allocating all
staff and resources to our other clinics.”
Patients in need
of emergent care can visit the Emergency Department at Lewis County General
Hospital. For non-emergent care,
residents can seek care from their health care provider.
All primary care
clinics, including the health system’s community-based health centers, offer
same-day appointments to help accommodate former Extended Hours Clinic
patients. In addition, the
Copenhagen Health Center, slated to re-open later this month, will be
accepting walk-in patients.
For residents
that do not have a primary care provider, Beaver River, Copenhagen,
Harrisville, South Lewis, Lewis County Family Practice, and Lewis County
Internal Medicine (Dr. Vora) are welcoming new patients. For more information visit www.lcgh.net or call central scheduling at 315-376-5086
to schedule an appointment.
