Croghan Lions Club Seeking Nominations

for Annual Citizens of the Year Awards

Citizens of the Year Sought

 

Croghan, NY- The Croghan Lions Club is once again preparing to recognize one adult and one student as their “Citizens of the Year” for 2021. Nomination forms have been sent to and can be obtained from the guidance office at Beaver River Central School, the Croghan Candy Kitchen or the Beaver Falls & Croghan libraries.  Nominations may be made by anyone who knows a deserving individual.

 

Achievement, Citizenship, Leadership, Dedication and Motivation are the attributes by which each nominee will be judged.  An emphasis will be placed on volunteerism and unselfish contributions to the well-being of the community.  The Lions are looking for individuals that clearly exemplify the Lions motto: WE SERVE.

 

Adults and students in grades 9 to 12 living within the Beaver River Central School District are eligible for nomination.  Nominations may be mailed directly to:  Marian M. Opela, 6814 Tillman Rd., Lowville, NY 13367.  The deadline for nominations is May 31, 2021 and winners will be announced by June 21, 2021. 

 

The Jim Scanlon Citizens of the Year Banquet to honor both the 2020 and 2021 recipients of this prestigious award is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, September 25, 2021 at American Legion Post 1663 in Croghan.
