Releases August Unemployment Data

The New York State Department of Labor released unemployment

data for the month of August this afternoon. Lewis County had a rate of 7.3

percent, up from the 4.5 percent rate last August. The August rate was down

from July's rate of 9.7 percent. The statewide rate for August was 12.5 percent.
