County Court on Friday morning, with the Honorable Daniel R. King presiding: David A. Baxter, 51, of Croghan, pleaded guilty to one count of third-degree Unlawful Manufacture of Methamphetamine, a class D felony, admitting to possessing the materials used to make the drug during a May 17 traffic stop in the town of New Bremen. Sentencing was adjourned to February 14, when Mr. Baxter, who has a previous violent felony conviction, is expected to be sent to State prison for 3 years with a recommendation to the State prison system's SHOCK program. Taylor B. Dennee, 22, was sentenced to serve 5 years on probation on a charge of third-degree Unlawful Manufacture of Methamphetamine, a class D felony, to which she pleaded guilty to on November 15. At the time of the plea Ms. Dennee admitted to possessing the materials to make methamphetamine during the execution of a search warrant in the town of Watson on April 5, 2019. She was additionally ordered to pay $375 in court fees and will have her license to drive suspended for 6 months. Venus S. Edmister, 44, of Ontario County, NY, pleaded guilty to one count of fourth-degree Grand Larceny, a class E felony, admitting to stealing a ring valued at over $1,000 in the town of Montague between the dates of October 16 and November 4, 2019. Sentencing was set for February 28, when Ms. Edmister is expected to sent to State prison for 1 1/2 to 3 years as a second felony offender. Ryan B. Hoban, 33, of Branchville, NJ, was sentenced to serve 5 years on probation on a charge of fifth-degree Attempted Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance, a class E felony, to which he pleaded guilty to on October 18. At that time Mr. Hoban admitted to attempting to sell the drug MDMA to an undercover officer during the moe.down music festival on July 5 in the town of Turin. He was ordered to pay $50 in court fees, with $231 in restitution already paid. Cody D. Marolf, 26, of Turin, pleaded guilty to one count of felony Driving While Intoxicated, admitting to driving after consuming alcohol on September 22 in the village of Lowville. Sentencing was adjourned to March 13, when Mr. Marolf is expected to be placed on interim conditions of probation. Mr. Marolf has a previous conviction for DWI in the town of Denmark from July 25, 2018, resulting in the felony charge for the current case. Patricia L. O'Donnell, 34, of Lyons Falls, was sentenced to serve 1 to 3 years is State prison on charges of third-degree Attempted Unlawful Manufacture of Methamphetamine and Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, both class E felonies, to which she pleaded guilty to on November 15 when she admitted to attempting to possess the materials used to manufacture methamphetamine, while driving under the influence of the drug during a traffic stop on May 17, 2019 in the town of New Bremen. Judge King then mandated Ms. O'Donnell to the Ste prison system's Willard Drug Rehabilitation Program, which allows inmates that successfully complete the 90 program to serve the remainder of their sentence under parole supervision. She was ordered to pay $375 in court fees and will have her driver's license revoked for 1 year. Alysa Ortlieb, 36, of Lowville, was sentenced to a conditional discharge on charges of fifth-degree Welfare Fraud and Petit Larcency, both class A misdemeanors, to which she pleaded guilty to on January 10. Restitution in the amount of $2,0017.19 was paid. She was additionally ordered to pay $50 in court fees and will be disqualified from receiving any public assistance benefits for a year. Xavier Rose, 29, of Watertown, was sentenced as a second felony offender to serve 6 years in State prison followed by 3 years of parole on a charge of third- degree Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance, a class B felony. He admitted to selling cocaine in the town of Denmark on November 8, 2018, when pleading guilty to the charge on November 15. Mr. Rose has a prior violent felony conviction for second-degree Robbery in Jefferson County on August 8, 2009 and has a case currently pending in Jefferson County for a felony Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance charge. He was additionally ordered to pay $375 in court fees. |
