| Four of Lewis County's Five School Districts Exceed State Average Graduation Rate for 2019 January 26, 2020 01:30 p.m. |

released statewide data for school year 2018-19 graduation rates for public school districts. Graduation Rate Data are reported for a 9th grade cohort, as of the 4th year of high school. This means students entering 9th grade during the 2015-16 school year make up the cohort for 2018-19 Graduation Rate Data. Statewide the graduation rate for 2018-19 was 83%, up from 82% rate for 2017- 18. As a county, the five districts located in Lewis County had a combined graduation rate of 91% for 2018-19, down slightly from the 2017-18 rate of 92%. In Lewis County there were 317 total students in the 2015-16 cohort, with 287 graduating. By district, Copenhagen and Harrisville both had a graduation rate of 97% for 2018-19, followed by Beaver River at 93% and Lowville at 92%. South Lewis was the only district in the county below the statewide average, posting a graduation rate of 80% for 2018-19.
