Two Unaccounted For After Overnight Fire in Lowville

    Lowville, NY- One person was injured and two more are unaccounted for
    following a fire at 7525 South State Street in Lowville overnight.

    Lowville Fire was dispatched to a reported structure fire at 11;49 p.m. on
    Saturday night. Mutual aid was provided from Martinsburg, Castorland and New
    Bremen fire departments. Fire coordinators and investigators, Lewis County
    Search & Rescue, Lowville Police, Lewis County Sheriff's Office, New York State
    Police and National Grid also provided assistance at the scene.

    Crews battled the fire until after 7:30 a.m. on Sunday morning.

    As of 11;45 a.m., South State Street remains closed to traffic between Stowe
    Street and the Dayan Street/Shady Avenue intersection.

    State Fire Investigators are now on scene trying to determine the cause of the
    fire.

    Police have not issued any further details at this time. We'll update as details
    become available.
