JCSO: Copenhagen Man Charged With
Aggravated DWI Following Property Damage Crash

    Rutland, NY- The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office arrested a Copenhagen man
    after responding to a property damage accident on State Route 12 in the town of
    Rutland just after midnight this morning.

    Dustin A. Groff, 30, was charged with one count each of Driving While
    Intoxicated- Special Vehicle; Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated; Imprudent
    Speed; Crossing Road Hazard Marking; Failed to Stop at Stop Sign.

    Deputies report that upon arriving on scene they discovered a 2016 Chevy
    Silverado pickup truck that struck a wire guardrail, causing heavy front end
    damage to the pickup truck. The crash occurred on State Route 12 near the
    County Route 162 intersection in the town of Rutland

    Mr. Goff was placed into custody and transported to the Jefferson County Public
    Safety Office, where he registered a .21 blood alcohol content after providing a
    breath sample. He was issued appearance tickets returnable to the town of
    Rutland court on December 10.
