Dinner Held to Honor Departing Lowville Troop 162 Scout Master

November 27, 2019   08:00 p.m.

Press Release from BSA Troop 162 Chartering Organization Representative:

Lowville American Legion Post 162 recently hosted a dinner for their charter BSA
Troop, in honor of departing Scout Master Daryl Lehman.

Daryl has served as Scout Master since September 2012, following 3 years as
Equipment Coordinator. In his time with Troop 162, Daryl has gone above and
beyond the duties of Scout Master, and dedicated unfathomable hours behind
the scenes, even in the years after his own sons’ departure from the troop.

Daryl has impacted so many young lives and leaves a very large pair of shoes to
fill.  Although he is stepping down as Scout Master, he will remain active with the
troop on an as needed basis for rank advancement and eagle reviews.

Moving into the position of Scout Master is current Assistant Scout Master Jesse
Quiriarte, with potential candidates lined up to fill his roll. Jesse has been in this
position for a few years now and has done an excellent job throughout the
    course of the transition.

Our troop is made of some of the best youth in the community, and would not be
possible for them to achieve the what they do, in the manner they do, without all
of the volunteer hours put in by Troop Officials, Committee Members and
    Parents.
