Lowville Man Admits to Illegally Possessing Weapon

    Lowville, NY- A Lowville man appeared in Lewis County court Friday afternoon,
    with the Honorable John H. Crandall, acting Lewis County court judge presiding.

    Michael C. Tabolt, 43, was arraigned and entered guilty pleas to charges of
    second-degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon, a class C felony, and third-
    degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon, a class D felony.

    Mr. Tabolt admitted to possessing an AR15 semi-automatic rifle and a firearm
    silencer on November 17, 2018 in the Town of Martinsburg. He had a prior
    Assault conviction from 1999, preventing him from legally possessing firearms.

    Sentencing in the case was adjourned to June 7, when Mr. Tabolt is expected to
    be sent to State prison for 5 1/2 years, followed by 5 years of post-release parole.
