Lowville, NY- The Lewis County Office for the Aging hosted a senior forum on
Tuesday, titled Creative Ways to Spice Things Up: Cooking with Ryan Piche and
Special Guest Dawn Roes, in celebration of the National March for Meals
    Community Champions Week.

Community Champions Week is a time in which senior nutrition programs are
encouraged to invite elected officials, local celebrities, and other prominent
community figures to share their support for senior nutrition programs by
delivering meals to seniors at their homes, assisting with meal service at
congregate sites, or by participating in other activities to increase awareness and
community engagement to support our senior neighbors.

Lewis County Manager Ryan Piche, with plenty of guidance from Office for the
Aging volunteer Dawn Roes, whipped up a sweet creamy pumpkin dip and beef
enchiladas during the event, with attendees able to sample both dishes along
    with a Glucerna-based banana smoothie.

You can see our videos from the event below, as well as the recipes if you'd like
to follow along and try them out!

Both recipes are also included in the Office for the Aging cookbook, which can be
purchased at their office for $12.
