- The board unanimously passed a resolution authorizing a lease
agreement between the County and V.S. Virkler & Sons Inc., for the County to lease a building at 7513 E. State Street in Lowville, with the intention of relocating the Lewis County Department of Motor Vehicles to the location. The County will pay $1,900 per month in rent, plus all utilities, maintenance, plowing and mowing. The lease agreement will run for three years, with a first option of purchase for the County. The lease will begin February 15. The County will be doing some renovations to the interior of the building to accommodate the DMV, with the move anticipated for early March.
- A resolution for the County to exercise an option for purchase, on behalf
of Lewis County General Hospital, for the Copenhagen Health Center property located at 9732 State Route 12 in Copenhagen unanimously passed. The County entered a lease agreement with the Village of Copenhagen for the property in December, 2010, with an option to purchase at any time for $50,000, with any lease payments credited to the purchase. With the January 1, 2019 lease payment, the County has paid a total of $49,000. The resolution authorizes the County to exercise the purchase option for the property, with the $49,000 in lease payments applied to the $50,000 purchase cost.
