Port Leyden Teen Crowned New York State Dairy Princess

    Two days of competition culminated in Lewis County Dairy Princess Reegan
    Domagala being crowned 2019-20 New York State Dairy Princess last evening
    at Holiday Inn in Salina, NY.

    The Port Leyden teen competed with twenty-one other county dairy princesses
    in the state pageant, which included a personal interview, questions, a prepared
    speech, a product knowledge exam, a writing skills test, and the informal
    interaction with others.

    Miss Domagala was awarded as the winner in the written communications test,
    the product knowledge test in addition to being named Miss Congeniality, before
    ultimately winning the overall crown of NYS Dairy Princess.

    As the winner of the competition Miss Domagala will receive a $1,200
    scholarship and will represent dairy farmers at a host of events, including county
    dairy princess pageants around the state, fairs, schools and farmer meetings.

    "I am so humbled and honored to receive this title. Not only do I have the
    opportunity to continue to represent our dairy farmers here in Lewis County, but
    all of the farmers in New York as well," Reegan tells linkinglewiscounty.com.

    "I am looking forward to an amazing year being the New York State Dairy
    Princess, along with my two teammates, Alyssa Roodra, the New York State First
    Alternate Dairy Princess, from Chemung County and Morgan Hungerford, the
    New York State Second Alternate Dairy Princess, from Delaware County," she
    continued. "We will travel all around New York State to promote the dairy
    industry and let the public know the true realities of dairy farming. Farmers work
    365 days a year, no matter the weather, or holiday. They are always ensuring
    that their animals are tended for and their environment is safe. They do all of this
    and so much more, to produce a safe, wholesome and nutritious product, milk!"

    Reegan is the daughter of Robert and Nancy Domagala.
