in Lewis County court, with the Honorable Daniel R. King presiding: Michael S. Dawson, 36, of New York City, pleaded guilty to charges of second- degree Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle, an unclassified misdemeanor and second-degree Criminal Impersonation, a class A misdemeanor. He was then sentenced to serve 60 days in the Lewis County jail and ordered to pay a $500 fine and $250 in court fees. He admitted to driving with a suspended license in the Town of Denmark on December 17, 2018 and identifying himself with his brother's name and date of birth to officers at that time. Shaun M. Liscum, 40, of Lyons Falls, was sentenced to serve 13 years in State prison followed by 10 years of parole, ordered to pay $773.30 in restitution and $750 in court fees on the following charges:
Mr. Liscum pleaded guilty to the charges on December 7, admitting to unlawfully entering the residence of an ex-girlfriend, on S. State Street in the Village of Lowville on March 18th, with the intent to cause injury and placing his hands around the neck of a second female at the residence while applying pressure. He admitted that this took place in the presence of a child under the age of 17. (Police report here) After his arrest on those charges, while being held at the Lewis County Jail on a probation violation due to a previous conviction for sex abuse, Mr. Liscum admitted to placing 9,617 phone calls to a female, violating an order of protection that was issued on her behalf. By pleading guilty to one count of first- degree Criminal Contempt, all 28,851 counts he was facing in that case were satisfied. Kimberly A. Wood, 26, of Port Leyden, was given a one year conditional discharge after successful completion of interim conditions of probation over the past year, on a charge of first-degree Offering a False Instrument to Filing, a class E felony. Judge King noted she had a "stellar report from probation." She was additionally ordered to pay $50 in court fees and ordered to perform 50- hours of community service. On February 16, 2018, Ms. Wood admitted to providing false information to the Lewis County Department of Social Services between November 1, 2016 and June 30, 2017, resulting in an overpayment of $1,624.77 in benefits. Tracy L. Wormwood, 50, of Castorland, was sentenced to a one year conditional discharge on a charge of fifth-degree Welfare Fraud, a class A misdemeanor, to which she pleaded guilty to on November 2, 2018. She was ordered to pay $50 in court fees and paid $1.300 in restitution. Additionally she will be barred from receiving public assistance benefits for one year and will be disqualified from receiving benefits for daycare/babysitting services from social services for a period of five years. |
