    From the Village of Lowville:

Lowville, NY- Tree lighting Wed, December 5th in Lowville!  Activities will
begin at the tree at the north end of town on Monument Lane (in front of the
Presbyterian church), a hay wagon will be available to ride throughout the
village as we carol our way to the 4 corner intersection of Dayan and State
streets to initiate a new tradition of lighting an additional tree and lights, adding
additional spirit to the village.  Hot cocoa, cookies and hopefully a visit from
Santa will take place throughout the event.   Mayor Smith would like to thank
Makuch's Tree Service for reshaping our 'Christmas' tree, Lowville Fire
Department members Brian Hanno, Kurt Munger, Donnie Kraeger and Dick
Percoski and her husband Kory Smith for assisting with restringing the tree,
Dave Norris, Luke Swerdoski and the LFD for their donation of lift equipment,
the Lowville Business Association and Lowville Lions Club for their financial
support of beautifying the village.  It is so important to bring a little light to the
community and we hope that you will join us in celebrating the start of this
    holiday season.
