Maple Ridge Center Invites Community to Annual Live Nativity December 1 11/18/18 04:00pm |
Maple Ridge Center invites community to annual Live Nativity Lowville, NY — Maple Ridge Center, along with the help of a variety of local churches and community members, will be hosting The Story of Hope on Saturday, December 1. Now in its sixth year, the live nativity takes families through a guided tour of five scenes telling the traditional Christmas story. Along the way, tour groups meet shopkeepers, live animals, and a flying angel. Tours are given every few minutes from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. While waiting, families can enjoy hot chocolate and live music indoors. The event is free, though donations will be accepted to benefit Beaver Camp's Campership Fund. Beaver Camp and Maple Ridge Center are both operated by the Adirondack Mennonite Camping Association, which is celebrating 50 years in 2019. The two organizations provide programs, meeting spaces, and things to do for families in upstate New York. Staff are thankful for the support of community members who help make events like the live nativity possible. Organizers are still hoping to add a few more live animals to the event, including sheep, goats, and chickens. If you're available to help, please contact the Beaver Camp office at (315) 376-2640, or email Mike Judd at mike@beavercamp.org.
