Small Plane Makes Emergency Landing Off Willow Grove Road

    Lowville, NY- Emergency crews were dispatched right around 5 PM on Sunday
    to the scene of a single-engine plane that made an emergency landing just off
    the Willow Grove Road near Lowville.

    The plane, equipped with a Cirrus Airframe Parachute System (CAPS), deployed
    the parachute for a safe landing. A Canadian couple and their baby, the only
    occupants, were able to safely exit the aircraft, without injury. All three were
    taken to Lewis County General Hospital for a precautionary checkup.

    Emergency crews tried to detach the parachute before the plane flipped over, but
    the plane did eventually flip onto its top.

    The plane is reportedly leaking fuel, with Lewis County Sheriff's deputies
    remaining on scene until Federal Aviation Administration officials arrive.
