    Both Lowville and Beaver River varsity football teams opened their regular
    season tonight with road games.

    Beaver River traveled to Sauquoit Valley, where they pulled off a seson
    opening 15-12 victory. Dylan Grace had a 2-yard touchdown run, while Brock
    Pominville added a 5-yard touchdown reception on a pass from Matthew
    Middleton. The Beavers also added a safety to the score.

    Lowville opened their season as defending Section III Class "C" champions in
    Solvay, where they were defeated in a close game by a score of 34-28.
    Lowville led 28-21 at halftime, but failed to score in the second half. Isaiah
    Roes recorded a 93-yard kick return for a touchdown, while adding a 14-yard
    touchdown reception on a pass from Jeron Woolschlager. Daniel Meyer had a
    2-yard touchdown run for the Red Raiders and Issac Lyndaker added a 1-yard
    touchdown run.
