National Weather Service Cautions Heavy Rain Possible For Weekend

Is some much needed rain on the horizon for the area? Possibly,

and maybe too much in some localized areas, as the The National Weather

Service in Buffalo issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook late this afternoon, for

Lewis, Oswego and Jefferson Counties for this weekend.

A complex frontal zone is forecast to stall over our region Saturday through

Monday, the release states. A series of disturbances will move along this

frontal zone and combine with an extremely moist airmass to bring the potential

for periods of rain and scattered thunderstorms, the release continued. If this

rain materializes it will initially be beneficial to our drought conditions, however

there is some potential for the rain to become heavy enough in localized areas

to produce isolated flash flooding.
