Friday, with Judge Daniel R. King presiding: Sentencing: Sasha E. Eckelman, 28, of Glenfield, was sentenced to five-years of probation on a charge of fifth-degree Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance, a class "D" felony, to which she entered a guilty plea on November 4th. She was additionally ordered to pay $66 in restitution, as well as $375 in court fees. Ms. Eckelman was accused of possessing and selling heroin in the Town of Watson in April, and was one of the sixteen people arrested during Operation Northern Watch in September. Eric M. Farr, 32, Lyons Falls, received sentencing on charges of Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, a class "D" felony, second-degree Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, an unclassified misdemeanor and Operating a Vehicle Without an Interlock Device, an unclassified misdemeanor. He entered guilty pleas for each charge on October, 20th. Judge King issued an indeterminate sentence of incarceration at the Lewis County Jail, during weekends, for three months on the Aggravated DWI charge, with concurrent sentences of 30 days each at Lewis County Jail, during weekends, for the other two charges. He was also given a five-year probation term, ordered to pay $3,500 in fines and $570 in court fees, ordered to participate in a Victims Impact Panel, and had his drivers license revoked for eighteen months. Kurt Hazzard, 45, of Croghan, was re-sentenced on charges that a jury delivered a guilty verdict to on May 19th. Mr. Hazard was already serving an eight-year sentence in State Prison for previous convictions, when he received sentencing on the new charges on August 12th of an additional 22 years in State Prison, with 15 years of post release parole on the count of first-degree Course of Sexual Conduct Against a Child, a class "B" felony. He additionally received sentences of two to four years in State Prison each, on two counts of third-degree Incest, class "E" felonies. These sentences run consecutive to the other sentences. He was ordered to pay $1,425 in court fees and registered as a sex offender. On Friday, Mr. Hazzard was back in court, with Judge King stating the original sentences of two to four years each on the two incest charges were improper under the law, and re-sentenced Mr. Hazzard to the correct term of 1 1/3 to 4 years for each incest charge. Mr. Hazzard was accused of having sexual contact with a girl under the age of 13 between January 2003 and January 2008 and again in 2010 and 2012 in the towns of New Bremen and Croghan. PLEAS: Lori L. Cobb, 44, of Glenfield, entered a GUILTY plea to a charge of fifth- degree Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, a class "A" misdemeanor. Sentencing was scheduled for March 3rd. Ms. Cobb was arrested on August 31st after deputies discovered a 2010 Ski-Doo XRS 800 snowmobile that was reported stolen in January, while investigating an unrelated matter. Phillip B. Damuth, 42, of Glenfield, entered a GUILTY plea to a charge of third-degree Attempted Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, a class "E" felony. Sentencing was set for January 6th. Mr. Damuth was arrested on August 31st after deputies discovered a 2010 Ski-Doo XRS 800 snowmobile that was reported stolen in January, while investigating an unrelated matter. |
