    Lowville- The following activity took place in Lewis County Criminal Court on
    Thursday, October 20, with Judge Daniel R. King presiding:

    Sentencing:

    Ryan M. Corey, 25, received final sentencing after successfully completing
    interim terms of probation. His plea to second-degree Attempted Assault,a
    class "E" felony, was vacated and reduced to a charge of third-degree assault,
    a class "A" misdemeanor. Mr. Corey was then sentenced to three years of
    probation, and will be credited the year served. Additionally, a no contact order
    of protection was issued on behalf of the victim for a period of five years and he
    was ordered to pay $250 in court fees.

    Jerrilee Hartle, 35, Lowville, was sentenced to 1 1/3 - 4 years in State Prison,
    with a five year probation term, on a felony DWI charge he pleaded guilty to on
    August 12th. He was additionally ordered to pay a $1000 fine and $570 in court
    fees, required to participate in a victim impact panel, will have a one-year
    revocation of his drivers license, and must use a vehicle interlock device for a
    period of twelve months. Mr. Hartle was arrested on March 5th after he was
    stopped while driving a tractor on South State Street in Lowville.


    Jody L. Matthews, 44, Edwards, received sentencing on a felony DWI charge.
    He received a 2 - 6 year  State Prison sentence to run concurrent to terms of a
    St. Lawrence county sentence, with a three year conditional discharge after
    release. He was ordered to pay a $1,000 fine and $570 in court fees, required
    to participate in a victim impact panel, received an eighteen-month drivers
    license revocation and must use a vehicle interlock device. Mr. Matthews, who
    has two prior felony DWI convictions in St. Lawrence County, was arrested
    following a traffic stop of his ATV on Factory Road in the Town of Montague on
    April 16th during the SNIRT Run, where he had a reported blood alcohol
    content of .23%.  



    PLEAS:

    Amir Budnjo, 35, of Utica, pleaded NOT GUILTY to a charge of Aggravated
    Driving While Intoxicated, a class "E" felony. His case was adjourned until
    December 16th. Mr. Budnjo was arrested August 1st on the Blanchard Truck
    Trail in the Town of Croghan with a reported blood alcohol content of .20%.  

    Daniel M. Eisel, 17, Lowville, pleaded GUILTY to charges of third-degree
    Burglary, a class "D" felony and Petit Larceny, a class "A" misdemeanor.
    Sentencing in the case was adjourned until December 16th. Mr. Eisel  was
    accused of entering a residence on the Partridgeville Road in the Town of
    Greig in February and stealing items in the Town of Greig in March.

    Eric M. Farr, 32, Lyon Falls, pleaded GUILTY to charges of Aggravated
    Driving While Intoxicated, a class "D" felony, Driving While Intoxicated,an
    unclassified misdemeanor and Operating a Motor Vehicle Without an Interlock
    Device, a class "A" misdemeanor. Sentencing was set for November 4th. Mr.
    Farr was arrested on July 9th on Laura Street in Lyons Falls.

    Ryan W. Granger, 36, Lowviile, entered NOT GUILTY pleas to charges of fifth-
    degree Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance, a class "D" felony and fifth-
    degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, a class "D" felony. The
    case was adjourned to December 2nd. Mr. Granger was one of sixteen
    individuals arrested in a September drug sweep.

    Douglas M. Tuttle, 21, of Lowville, pleaded NOT GUILTY to charges of third-
    degree Unlawfully Manufacturing of Methamphetamine, a class "D" felony and
    Reckless Endangerment, stemming from a May 18th apartment house fire on
    South State Street in Lowville. He also entered NOT GUILTY pleas to charges
    of fifth-degree Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance,a class "D" felony and
    fifth-degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, a class "D" felony.
    Those charges are a result of the "Operation Northern Watch" drug sweep. His
    case was adjourned until November 4th.
