On Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at approximately 6:48 pm,

New York State Troopers responded to the Moose River Road in the Town of

Lyonsdale for a one car crash.

Mariah L. Mashaw, 24, of Port Leyden, was traveling westbound on Moose

River Road in the Town of Lyondale when she left the north side of the

roadway, according to NYSP Troop D Public Information Officer Jack Keller.

The vehicle then traveled approximately 100 yards along the dirt shoulder of

the roadway, striking several trees. The vehicle then came to a rest, after

colliding head on with a tree, Trooper Keller stated.

Ms. Mashaw was transported to St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Utica, by Port

Leyden Ambulance, for neck pain and head injury. She was later charged with

Driving While Intoxicated, an unclassified misdemeanor, third-degree

Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, a class "A" misdemeanor,

seventh-degree

Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of

Marijuana,

and Operating a

Motor Vehicle While Using a Cell Phone, a

violation.
