Lewis County Court Activity Report for February 26, 2021

    Lowville, NY- The following plea and sentencing activity took place in
    Lewis County Court on Friday, February 26, 2021, with the Honorable
    Daniel R. King presiding:

    Michael J. Bruce, 34, of Brantingham, was sentenced to serve 6 years in
    State prison, followed by 3 years of post-release parole, on a count of
    second-degree Unlawful Manufacture of Methamphetamine, a class C
    felony, due to a previous conviction for manufacturing meth in 2016. Mr.
    Bruce pleaded guilty to the charge on September 25, admitting to
    possessing materials to manufacture methamphetamine on May 20, 2020 in
    the town of Lyonsdale. Judge King then mandated Mr. Bruce to the State
    prison system's 90-day Willard Drug Rehabilitation Program, which allows
    inmates who successfully complete the program to serve the remainder of
    their sentence on parole. Mr. Bruce was ordered to pay $375 in court fees
    and will have his driver's license suspended for 6 months. He was
    previously convicted of third-dergee Unlawful Manufacture of
    Methamphetine in Lewis County Court in 2016.

    James J. Lynch, 32, of Lowville, pleaded guilty to one count of fifth-degree
    Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance, a class D felony, admitting to
    selling methamphetamine to another individual on July 28, 2020 in the
    village of Lowville. Sentencing in the case was adjourned to April 2.

    Tyler L. Noftsier, 30, of Beaver Falls, was sentenced to serve 6 months in
    Lewis County Jail, followed by a 5 year probation term, on a felony count of
    Driving While Intoxicated. Mr. Noftsier pleaded guilty to the charge on
    October 16, 2020, admitting to operating a motor vehicle on State Route
    812 in the town of Lowville on February 18, 2020 after consuming alcohol.
    He was previously convicted of DWI in February of 2016, resulting in the
    felony count on the current charge. He was ordered to pay $570 in court
    fees and a $1,000 fine, in addition to being required to install an ignition
    interlock device and participate in a victim impact panel. Additionally, his
    driver's license will be revoked for a year.
