Lewis County Court Activity Report for October 9, 2020

    Lowville, NY- The following plea and sentencing activity took place on Friday in
    Lewis County Court, with the Honorable Daniel R. King presiding:

    Daniel L. Joslyn, 29, of Rome, was sentenced as a second-felony offender to
    serve 2 1/2 to 5 years in State prison on a charge of third-degree Burglary, a
    class D felony. He pleaded guilty to the charge on December 20, admitting to
    entering Riverside Motors in the town of Martinsburg on May 19, 2019 and
    stealing $500 in cash. Mr. Joslyn was additionally ordered to pay $550 in
    restitution and surcharges and $375 in court fees. He was previously convicted
    of felony Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in Oneida County in
    2015.

    Joshua D. Mantle, 30, of Harrisville, was allowed to vacate a plea to second-
    degree Attempted Assault, a class "E" felony, and instead plead guilty to third-
    degree Assault, a class A misdemeanor, after successful completion of interim
    conditions of probation. He was then sentenced to time served and ordered to
    pay $250 in court fees. Mr. Mantle admitted to striking his grandmother during an
    argument on March 11, 2018 in the town of Diana.

    Andrew F. Muncy, 30, of Lowville, was sentenced to a one year conditional
    discharge on charges of Driving While Intoxicated, an unclassified misdemeanor
    and third-degree Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Vehicle, an unclassified
    misdemeanor. Mr. Muncy pleaded guilty to the charges on August 14, admitting
    to operating a vehicle in the town of Martinsburg on August 24, 2019, while
    under the influence of alcohol and knowing his license to drive was suspended
    for nine traffic violations on nine different dates. He was ordered to pay $1,750 in
    fines and $445 in court fees, and must participate in a victim Impact Panel and
    install an Ignition Interlock Device. His license to drive will be revoked for six
    months.

    Daniel J. Paquette, 40, of Rome, was allowed to vacate a plea to a charge of
    Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated With Child in Vehicle (Leandra's Law), a
    class E felony and instead plead guilty to Driving While Intoxicated, an
    unclassified misdemeanor; and Speeding, a traffic infraction, after successful
    completion of interim conditions of probation. He was ordered to pay $800 in
    fines and $445 in court fees. His license to drive will be revoked for one year and
    he will be required to participate in a Victim Impact Panel and install an Ignition
    Interlock Device. Mr. Paquette admitted to driving while intoxicated in the town of
    Lewis on June 8 with two children under the age of 16 in the vehicle.
