Lewis County Agricultural & Farmland Protection Board

NOTICE - SEEKING MEMBER

The Lewis County Board of Legislators is seeking members of the agricultural

community to serve on the Lewis County Agricultural & Farmland Protection

Board. Members of this board review opportunities to enhance farm operations

and resources, right-to-farm protections; tax relief; local farmland protection

planning; and mitigation of the adverse impacts of public projects on farmlands.

Review proposals to create, modify or continue agricultural districts, and

establish the method of review of agricultural districts; as well as approval of the

County’s Agricultural Enhancement Plan. The Ag & Farmland Protection Board

works in conjunction with the County Planning Board and the County
