Dear Harrisville Community,

Unfortunately, we have been informed of a positive case of COVID-19 among our
Board of Education, which may affect certain staff and students. In order to protect
the health and safety of everyone in our school community, we will be pivoting to
remote instruction for all students until Monday, November 16th, while staff and
students seek testing and contact tracing is completed. We know you have many
questions and concerns and while we cannot share details identifying the positive
individual, I can assure you that if you or your child have come in contact with the
positive individual, you will be contacted directly by Lewis County Department of
Public Health.

LCDPH is conducting a thorough contact tracing investigation and some school
staff and students may be put under mandatory quarantine as a result. In the
interest of protecting the health and safety of all staff and students within our
school community, and due to a lack of coverage for those staff who have been
quarantined, remote instruction is our best option at this time.

All CTE and out of district special education students will also be fully remote
during this time period.

Free meals will be available for pick-up at school on Mondays. Please go onto our
website and fill out the free meals form on the home page. If you do not fill out this
form we will not have meals ready for you to pick on the Mondays during our couple
week shutdown.

We will continue to work closely with Public Health to reassess the situation and
will keep you informed of any changes to this plan. If you have concerns and would
like to seek COVID-19 testing proactively for you or your child, there are testing
sites available throughout the county. Contact information is included below.
