Village Elections Postponed in March to be
Held September 15 in Four Lewis County Villages

Four Lewis Coun

ty villages will be holding their village

elections on

Tuesday,

September 15, following the statewide postponement of

village

elections in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic. All ballots will remain

the

same as they were originally prepared for the scheduled March 18 election.

All voters who vote in person at any of the four polling locations will be required

to wear a face covering and be asked to adhere to the social distancing

guidelines in place.

n Castorland

, three trustee seats and the mayor position are on the ballot.

Mervin Moser is running unopposed for mayor, while Scott Moshier and Heidi

Lehmann are running unopposed for full-term seats on the Board of Trustees.

Richard Diller is running unopposed to fill the remaining three years on an

unexpired term on the Board of Trustees. Polls will be open from 12 p.m. to

9 p.m.

, with a tentative polling location at the Village DPW office on State Route

410.

In Copenhagen

, three candidates are on the ballot to fill two Board of Trustee

seats. Incumbent candidates Kim Vogt and Ben Shambo are seeking reelection,

with Kasimir Bigda challenging for a seat on the board. Polls will be open from

12 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Municipal Office located at 9915 State Route 12.

In Lowville

, two seats on the Board of Trustees are up for election. Dan Salmon

is running unopposed for another term in the seat he currently holds, while

Michael Leviker is running unopposed for the seat currently held by Charles

Truax, Jr., who is not seeking reelection. Polls will be open from 12 p.m. to

9 p.m., with voters casting their ballots at the Municipal Office located at 5535

Bostwick St.

In Turin

, two candidates are running for one seat on the Board of Trustees.

Incumbent Kelly Amidon is being challenged by Lynnette Parker for the seat.

Polls are open from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m., with voting taking place at the Municipal

Office at 6312 E. Main St.

*Note: This article has been updated to reflect a change in the polling site in the

village of Castorland. Voters will cast ballots at the DPW office on State Route

410 for this election, instead of the normal polling site at Karcher Country

Estates.
